the world burns
and i'd be sitting on a bench
on a mountain top
i'd watch it all burn away
there'd be the smell of burning plastic
poisonous perfume
a rain of ashes
soot and fire
and i'd be there,
sitting,
looking,
thinking
i'd watch it all burn away
there'd be no more trees
nor birds
no more beasts
nor fishes
they'd all turn to coal and fuel
for whom?
there'd be cash,
towers of notes
food for flames
a smokestack
what can you buy with cash anyway?
i'd watch it all burn away
i'd pour myself a cup of wine,
Styrofoam?
sure, the world's doomed anyways
the sky a pretty canvas of smog and blood
i'd have my headphones on
the music's comforting
it blocks out the screams,
chaos and cackles
i'd take a lil sip
and shift my weight a lil bit
soon it'd be night
say goodbye to the sun
we won't be needing her light
bubbyes
we've got fire works everywhere now
ain't it pretty, how it all burns?
i've yet to see the night sky sparkle
for a very long time
light pollution's yesterday
the power plants are all shut down
what else do we have for fuel?
fats?
are burnt for energy,
not for power plants
slowly,
my lungs would be filled with smoke
or poison, or both
or i'd get some of those cancer stuff
nobody knows what the ozone layer is anymore
how can you know something that's no longer there?
nobody smokes nowadays,
they'd like to live longer i guess
and drugs and all that,
done with
but how ironic,
such lousy timing
memento mori
i'd pet her,
as i watch it all burn away
the two of us,
how romantic
Hope says meow.
